Introducing Artio Holdings

Today we're introducing Artio Holdings — a Singapore-based technology holding company building websites, automation, and platforms for businesses ready to move faster.

By Zyle Liew·

When we registered Artio Holdings on 1 April 2026, the registrar's office on Lavender Street was almost empty. The clerk asked what kind of company we were starting. I said "a holding company that builds technology for Singapore SMEs". She nodded, asked for the fee, and stamped the certificate. UEN 202614551C. That was the moment.

A few months earlier, the team had been having the same conversation again and again: why does it cost a Singapore SME the price of a small car to get a properly-built website? Why does a four-channel chatbot setup cost more per month than the staff salary it replaces? Why does every digital tool the local market actually needs feel like it was designed for Fortune 500 procurement, not a 12-person business in Tampines?

That's the gap Artio is built to close. This post is the founding story.

The name

Artio is the name of the ancient Celtic bear goddess. Bears are not flashy. They don't move fast. They protect what they love and they nurture what they create. They survive in environments other animals can't. And — when they need to — they're stronger than anything in the forest.

That's the temperament we want for everything we build.

We considered a dozen other names. Some were clever. Some were "tech-y". A few were just initials. None of them held up to the same test: would I want to put this name on a piece of work I'm proud of in 10 years? Would a customer trust this name with their business? Would a junior engineer feel proud to say they work here?

Artio passed. The rest didn't.

What we're building today

Three things, deliberately.

Websites. From SGD 20 landing pages to multi-page business sites and full e-commerce stores. The goal is not the cheapest site in Singapore. It's the best-built site at any given price point. A SGD 20 landing page from us is built to the same standards as a SGD 20,000 site from us — the difference is scope, not craft.

AI & chatbot automation. WhatsApp Business API, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger, unified through one custom-trained AI agent. We charge from SGD 5/month — about 1/100th of what Respond.io and ManyChat charge for tools most SMEs only partially use. The math works because we're a lean team with modern infrastructure, not because we're cutting corners.

A dating app. This one's in development. We're building it because the existing options are broken — too much swiping, too little verification, too many fake profiles. The Singapore launch is targeted for Q2 2026. If you want early access, the waitlist is open at /services/dating-app.

Three services is a deliberate choice. Three is enough to build a real business. More than three is too many to do well at our size.

The bigger picture

The roadmap goes beyond these three. Over the next 18-24 months we're building toward Singapore's next-generation super-app — a single platform that brings on-demand services (cleaning, handyman, beauty), domestic helper matching, skilled labour staffing (construction, F&B), and peer-to-peer marketplace commerce under one roof.

Why this market, and why now?

Singapore's super-app conversation has been dominated for years by Grab and ShopeePay, both of which started elsewhere and adapted. We're starting in Singapore, designed for Singapore, with a roadmap shaped by what local SMEs and households actually ask for. That focus matters. A platform built for the Singapore market — with the Singapore regulatory landscape, the Singapore payment rails, the Singapore service categories — will serve Singapore better than a regional behemoth ever could.

The dating app is step one. Each module after that compounds the user base, the trust, and the data infrastructure for the next.

How we're different

Three things, if you're trying to compare us to other agencies or platforms:

Singapore-based, locally focused. We're physically here, registered here, and servicing the Singapore market first. That sounds obvious until you've tried to escalate a billing issue at 2am Singapore time with a vendor whose support desk is in San Francisco.

Premium quality, accessible prices. Our work would not look out of place in an international agency portfolio. Our prices are built for Singapore SME budgets. The delta exists because we're not running an enterprise overhead — and we don't pretend to be.

Long game over quick wins. We're building for 10 years. That changes how we make every decision — what stack we choose, how we write code, how we treat clients, what we say no to.

Working with us

If you're a Singapore SME thinking about a website, automation, or a custom platform, the next step is a free 30-60 minute discovery call. No commitment, no pressure. Either we're a fit and we tell you exactly what it'll cost, or we're not and we point you somewhere better.

You can start a conversation here, or message us on WhatsApp directly. We respond within 24 hours on business days.

If you're an engineer, designer, or operator interested in building this with us — same link. We're four people right now. We won't be four forever.

Welcome to Artio.
